Step one Dialogues (1)

• There are five dialogues in this part, all of
  which are very easy. Ask the students to read
  them together in groups. They may discuss the
  problems while reading.

• 1). Can I help you with your luggage?

• Can you help me with my English?
• b. luggage n. the cases, bags, boxes, etc. of a
  traveler e.g.
• Can you move these three pieces of luggage to
  the car?

Step two Reading

• Ask the students to read the dialogues again for
  some minutes. This time they are allowed to read
  in pairs loudly.

• Ask the students to read the phonetics in groups,
  at this time the teacher walks around the
  classroom to answer questions or correct the
  errors if any and then ask the students to read
  those phonetics together at last ask individuals
  to read in class.

• Ask the students to practice reading the
  sentences in groups for a few minutes, and then
  ask individuals to read aloud in class.
• 2. Exercises 6.
• Ask the students to make up dialogues in pairs.
  A few minutes later, ask some pairs to act out
  their dialogues in class.

• Practice reading the consonants after class.
  About the sentences below each (pair of)
  phonetics, the students are required to read
  fluently.
• Recite the paragraphs that the teacher hand out
  in class (contd).

After-class (2)

• If I were a boy again, I would school myself
  into a habit of attention I would let nothing
  come between me and the subject in hand. I would
  remember that a good skater never tries to skate
  in two directions at once. The habit of attention
  becomes part of our life, if we begin early
  enough. I often hear grown-up people say, I
  could not fix my attention on the lecture or
  book, although I wished to do so, and the reason
  is, the habit was not formed in youth (contd).

After-class (3)

• I were to live my life over again, I would pay
  more attention to the cultivation of the memory.
  I would strength that faculty by every possible
  means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a
  little hard work at first to remember things
  accurately but memory soon helps itself, and
  gives very little trouble. It only needs early
  cultivation to become a power.
