Title: Living A Denial Of The Resurrection

1
Living A Denial Of The Resurrection
2
Resurrection Faith Unbelieving Believers
  • We live in unbelief when we do not possess a
    dynamic faith
  • A picture of life with no resurrection Our
faith would pointless! (1 Corinthians 1514,
    16-18)
  • When understood and appreciated, the
resurrection should produce a living hope in us
    (I Peter 13, 21)
  • Sometimes the reason our trust is weak is
because we dont live with a daily awareness of
the resurrection of Jesus (Eph. 119-21 Rom.
    420-25)
  • Confidence in Gods power in the resurrection
of Jesus gives us faith for our salvation at the
point of baptism (Col. 212 I Peter 321)

3
Resurrection Faith Unbelieving Believers
  • We live in unbelief when we allow sin to be
    continually present in our life
  • At baptism there is a resurrection where our
relationship to sin and with sin changes (Rom.
    63-11)
  • His resurrection reminds us WHY He endured all
of this He did it for our sake, so we could be
a new creation. His love controls us! (2 Cor.
    514-17)
  • There is a fruit that is consistent with belief
in the resurrection of Jesus. A fruit that
understands we will be raised. A fruit that
longs for that day (Rom 74)

4
Resurrection Faith Unbelieving Believers
  • We live in unbelief when we do not possess a
    persevering purpose in our life
  • Remember our spiritual resurrection in unity
with Christ? There is a change in our focus in
    life (Colossians 31ff)
  • The mantra of those who live as if there was no
resurrection Eat, drink, and be merry, for
tomorrow we die (1 Corinthians 1532)
  • We become weak and fruitless when Jesus
resurrection is an afterthought. We have
something to live for, work toward, and pour our
    hearts into (I Cor. 1557-58)
