10- London is the capital city of Great Britain,
its political, economic and cultural centre. It
is one of the largest cities of the world. Its
population is more than 9 million people. London
is situated on the river Thames. The city is very
old and beautiful. It was founded more than 2000
years ago. London has lots of places of interest.
One of them is the Houses of Parliament, the seat
of the British Government. There one can see a
famous Clock Tower Big Ben, the symbol of London.
Big Ben is really the bell which strikes every
quarter of an hour. Buckingham Palace is the
residence of the Queen. There are many other
places of interest in London Trafalgar Square,
Regents Park, Westminster Abbey and of course,
the British Museum.

marry. It was built between 1840 and 1850.

- Now look right and you can see a big clock.
Its Big Ben. Its famous in England and all
around the world. Big Ben is the name of the bell
in the Clock Tower a part of the House of
Parliament. The bell is very heavy. It weighs
13.5 tons

- Its Tower of London. At first it was a
fortress, a prison and a palace. Now its a
museum, which always presents its exhibits on
displays!

- Now, lets come closer to the Tower Bridge,
which is near the Tower of London. It was opened
in 1894.
28Piccadilly Circus
- Now were in Piccadilly Circus. Piccadilly
Circus is the centre of London. It is a famous
London landmark and meeting place. Here you can
see the bronze fountain and the famous statue of
Eros.

landmark. Its taller than Big Ben! If you are in
