- Stronger than natural fiber rope
- Natural Fiber
- usually manila sisal or cotton
- constructed of short natural fibers
- Deteriorates rapidly over time
- Looses strength after it is wet
- Susceptible to mildew,dry rot, chemical damage,
abrasion
