- Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up
- the Houses of Parliament
- with gun powder
- and kill James 1, the English king.
- But on the morning of the 5th November,
- 1605 the King found them and stopped them.
6The soldiers arrested Guy, and took him to the
Tower of London, where they kept him
prisoner. They also arrested the other men
and took them to the Tower as well.
7To celebrate that the King did not die King James
said that people should have a big bonfire every
year on November the 5th.
8Today, people still celebrate the story of The
Gunpowder Plot by lighting bonfires, making Guys
