Process of Making Artificial Sucrose
  • The process how glucose and fructose form sucrose
    is called Dehydration.This process is
artificial, you have to remove an hydroxide
molecule and a hydrogen molecule.  The natural
process would be the other way around  If
sucrose is combined with water, it would split
    into fructose and glucose.

Table Sugar
  • The sucrose is made of glucose (C6H12O6) and
fructose (C6H12O6).  Even though they have the
    same composition, their molecule-structure is
different as shown in the graphic.  These two
substances are the naturally product of sucrose,
when it moldered.  When you remove a OH molecule
from the glucose molecule and an O atom from the
fructose molecule, the removed atoms form water.
The remained O atom at the fructose molecule
wants to form a bond, and the glucosemolecule,
has a new free spot.  The two molecules are being
combined through an oxygen-bridge of the remained
O atom.  Thats how they form the bigger molecule
    sucrose.  The equation isC6H12O6   C6H12O6
     ? C12H22O11 H2O
