Safety Precautions on Coal Stockpiles
Stockpile Maintenance Procedures
  • Due to the relatively small stockpiles, dozers
are continuously required to store and reclaim
    both raw and clean coal.
  • Where people are required to operate equipment or
travel on foot on a stockpile equipped with a
reclaim belt and draw-off feeders, West Virginia
Code 36-27-5.1 requires an approved plan.
  • The Approved Plan Has Proven to be a Good
    Practice
  • The Plan Consists of Three Basic Elements

  • General Rules and Safe Procedures Required for
    Working on Stockpiles

    repaired .
  • When a cavity is suspected, the equipment
operator will fill the cavity by side cutting
