Title: Feed In Transportation

1
Feed In Transportation
  • Making electricity worth 4 times more.
  • Germany has used a Feed In Tariff to make them
the fastest growing solar country in the world.
  • Incentive to install PV solar systems
  • Production-based incentive pays 8 times more than
    they charge you
  • Americans can use Feed In Transportation to take
80 cents (10 Kwh) of electricity to displace
about 300 cents (one gallon) worth of gasoline.
  • Using a grid-tied PV system to charge a vehicle
eliminates pollution and the electricity is FREE
  • after the system has paid for itself !

2
Solar PV system
  • When you add a Solar Electric PV system in
Arizona you get about 80 in incentives to
    install the system.
  • You also get standard Net-Metering for any excess
    electric you make.
  • So size the as big as you can get for the
incentives. Then you can power your home and
    plug-in vehicle !

3
Plug-in Vehicles
  • Electric vehicles are very efficient gt85
  • New lithium batteries are non toxic, very safe
    and long lasting. (10-12 years)
  • It takes 10 KwH (80 cents) of electricity to go
as far as a gallon of gas (30-40 miles).
  • There are options to make any full Hybrid (like
Prius) run as a part electric vehicle.

4
PLUG IN HYBRID
  • The plug in hybrid option is very affordable and
can do anything from a local trip to cross
    country.

5
Plug In Hybrid info
  • Plug In Supply has a kit to make your 2004-2009
    Prius into a plug-in. 10K
  • Go 30-40 miles all electric at up to 52 mph OR go
    super-hybrid at 100 mpg for 100 mi.
  • Short trips (lt 100 miles) get the best MPG.
  • Kit includes 10 Kw of lithium batteries, battery
    management system and charger.

6
Electric Vehicles
  • There are new advanced battery electric vehicles
due out in 2010. Nissan LEAF 25K

7
Nissan LEAF info
  • The all electric Nissan LEAF is due in December
    2010.
  • Its made in Smyrna Tennesse, USA!
  • Rated at 100 miles per charge. Recharge from
    120v, 240v or fast charge, 20 min.
  • Uses the new J-1772 connector.
  • eTec ECOtality is installing 2,000 charging
stations in PHOENIX 300 in Tucson.

8
Other Plug-Ins
  • Many other plug-in vehicles are available with
    more on the way .
  • Tesla sports car (120K) family sedan (50K)
300 mile range. Made in California.
  • Nissan LEAF 100 mile range (25K) Tenn.
  • Aptera 2 person 100 mile range, California
  • GM VOLT plug-in hybrid - 40 mile range.

9
Other options
  • Even if you dont have Solar PV you can plug in
    and save the same.
  • CHARGE OFF PEAK after 9 PM and save the load on
the utility and power plants, transmission line
and transformers. Excess electricity produced at
night must be shunted to ground if its not used.
  • Utilities reduce cost and dont need to add a
single power plant if we plug in Off Peak

10
More PLUG IN options
  • Soon smart metering will let you know when to
    charge at super low rates.
  • Some vehicles have V2G, Vehicle to GRID. This
lets you charge off peak, sell on peak and even
run your home or small company off your vehicle !
  • V2G may even pay you to just be plugged in. Our
vehicles sit 20-24 hours a day.
