context of COMPRIS
- Electronic (Cross Border) reportingis a method
for the international exchange of information
about voyages and cargo in inland navigation via
electronic means (e.g. Internet) based on
established message standards (e.g. EDIFACT,
XML). - Electronic (Cross Border) reportingsignificantly
contributes to the efficient fulfilment of
reporting duties in inland navigation.

Directive
- Article 4, par. 3c
- enable the competent authorities to receive
electronic ship reports on the voyage and cargo
data of ships. In cross-border transport, this
information shall be transmitted to the competent
authorities of the neighbouring state and any
such transmission shall be completed before the
arrival of the vessels at the border - Article 5, par. 1b
