Home heating systems.
Radiators (caloriferi) It is widely used hot
water leaves the boiler and thanks to pipes
enters radiators around the house. Then it
returns to the boiler to be heated again
Storage heaters. (caloriferi a mattoni
rifrangenti) The heat is generated in the heater
itself which heats fire bricks till they get
very hot. The heat is then completely radiated
into the air. After that the process starts
again.
Underfloor heating (Pannelli radianti). There
are only pipes placed everywhere underfloor. The
heated water travels as in the radiator system.
Heated water pipes heat all the room. Inital
high costs, but long term convenience.
Wood pellet stoves (stufe a pellet). Open
fires(caminetti) and old fashioned stoves
(vecchie stufe a legna) are polluting and
inefficient. Wood pellet stoves are easy to use(
automatic), safe and highly efficient. The
pellets are the fuel. They are made of finely
ground wood waste which is compressed into hard
pellets. From 10 to15 kg are loaded into the
hopper and the stove can run automatically for
24 hours. Pellets are slowly released into a
small combustion chamber.
Vented air systems (sistemi a ventilazione). As
in a hair dryer, the air is heated by electrical
elements. Ventilation pipes, in the walls, move
air around the house. A good filtration system
is necessary to avoid dust gathering causing
allergy problems.
