• In this passage, we find Paul setting forth the
  necessary characteristics of the Christian. While
  there is certainly much more to being a
  Christian, these are indispensable to the
  building up of a Christian characteristic.

• Desire minus expectation is not hope
• Expectation minus desire is not hope
