  • Two story wood structure.
  • Existing structure is 3,730 Square Feet.
  • Constructed in 1823 as a church.
  • Relocated to current location in 1848.
  • Addition and remodeling completed over the years.
  • USDA Rural Development has cited the Town for non
    compliance with ADA.

Concerns with Existing Town Hall
  • Space limitations within existing facility.
  • Site limitations outside the facility creating
    concerns for parking and septic system.
  • Lack of compliance with Americans with
    Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Second floor offices not meeting ADA code
    requirements and Uniform Building Code
    requirements.

  • Lack of privacy for staff and residents holding
    meetings.
  • Inefficiency of building due to deteriorating
    condition, lack of proper insulation and aged
    mechanical systems.

  • Meeting with Stakeholders has been held.

    (Department).
  • Identified a total square footage need of
    approximately 7,200 SF.

    with a new Town Hall.

  • Town Board authorized Chatfield Engineers to
    update the needs assessment prepare Concept
    Plans.
  • Town Board Authorized Structural Evaluation and
    Building Condition Inspections.

  • Alternate 1 Do Nothing
  • (no longer an option)
  • Alternate 2 Rebuild Existing Town Hall (costly,
    not practical doesnt solve space problems)
  • Alternate 3 Tear down existing Town Hall
    build new structure on existing property
  • (limited space for parking and septic system)
  • Alternate 4 Relocate to Town owned property with
    a new Town Hall.

Steps to be taken
  • Additional discussion needs to be held
    regarding the building size necessary.
  • Project delivery method needs to be evaluated and
    Preliminary Cost Estimates need to be prepared.
  • Further evaluation of the financing of the
    project will be necessary to determine the impact
    to the community.
