Title: The Cover Letter
1The Cover Letter Guidelines for Success
- Use Reflective Journals 3 and 5 as a beginning
- Your cover letter needs to be specific.
- Be specific, not general. Dont tell your reader
- I improved my grammar a lot.
- Instead, tell them
- I learned about verb tenses, and was able to
proofread my essay so that all past-time stories
used past-tense verbs (took instead of take
on page 3, for example). - Dont explain changes with
- because my instructor told me to.
2Formatting Your Letter
- Include the date of submission.
- November 16, 2011
- Address your letter.
-
- Dear LLD-2 portfolio readers,
- Single-spaced / no more than 2 pages.
- Sign off with a formal closing.
-
- Sincerely,
- (your name signed)
