Title: Cinnamon Apples
1Cinnamon Apples 2 baking apples 3/4 c. water 2
Tbsp. 2tsp. sugar ¼ c. red hot cinnamon
candies Wash, core, peel apples. Slice into at
least 10 slices. In a large saucepan, stir and
boil Water Sugar Red hot candies Add fruit to
hot liquid. Simmer gently, uncovered, until
fruit is fork tender. Turn fruit occasionally,
while cooking to coat it. Place fruit in bowl
and pour liquid over. Enjoy warm or
chilled Yield 5 servings sugar added in
beginning
2Applesauce
- 4 tart cooking apples
- ¼ c. water
- ¼ c. sugar
- Wash, core, peel apples. Cut into small pieces.
- Put in saucepan with water. Cover pan and cook on
medium heat 15 to 20 minutes, until apples are
fork tender. Stir occasionally and add water if
needed, to keep apples from scorching. - Remove from heat. Smash apples with a potato
masher. Add ¼ c sugar. - Cook again 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved.
- Flavor with cinnamon, if desired. Serve warm or
cold. - Yield 6servings
- NOTE Sugar is added after apples are cooked.
