Lee Teng Undergraduate Internship in Accelerator
Science and Engineering (Run jointly with
Argonne National Lab)
Run jointly with Argonne National Laboratory,
this internship is aimed at undergraduate
students interested in Accelerator Science. It is
a 10 week summer program, patterned after the DOE
SULI internship, which also includes 2 weeks at
the US Particle Accelerator School. The program
has just completed its second year. It is open
to US or foreign students enrolled at US
universities, majoring in Physics, Mathematics,
Engineering, or Computer Science. Juniors or
outstanding Sophomores are considered. Successful
candidates work with a mentor on a predetermined
project in accelerator science or related
technology. At the end, each student gives a
short presentation and writes a paper summarizing
his or her work. Interns receive a weekly
stipend, housing and round trip transportation to
Chicago. In addition, the program pays the cost
of attending the USPAS.
