- As we come to the end of a very busy term our
KS2 children have been busily rehearsing for the
end of school performance and our choir for their
evening at the Colston Hall. Please note the
change of date for the What a Knight
performance. A separate letter has been sent
explaining the reason. Next term is very busy so
look out for regular updates via the text
messaging service.
A special thanks goes to Mrs. Cavanagh for
donating a Gazebo to the PTA. I would also like
to thank Mrs. Stuckey for continuing to coach
netball and Mr. Little Mr. Rosenberg for
running the chess club.
The School Website is regularly updated. Recent
additions to the website have been - The revised Behaviour Policy
- Reading at Frenchay leaflet
- Information on the curriculum being taught in
each class. Dinner Money Please can the correct
money be sent in on a Monday as it is difficult
to find change, especially mid-week when all
money has been banked. We would prefer you to
pay by cheque as this avoids money falling out of
envelopes before it reaches the office. Mrs.
Downes is happy to receive a cheque for a term in
advance if your child has a regular dinner
pattern and you mark it on the envelope or back
of the cheque. Remember Inset days and School
trips affect the number of dinners ordered. Text
messages are sent out Friday updating you on how
much credit/debit you have remaining Balances on
accounts need to be 0.00 at the end of the
summer term.

MEDICINES - In line
with the Governors medical policy we can only
issue medication that is for severe allergies and
long-term illness. Please ensure all asthma
inhalers are in school and in date. Please
contact Mr. Medlicott or Mrs. Downes if you have
not filled in a Health Care Plan.
Lunchtime routines I would like to clarify our
arrangements at lunchtime all KS1 KS2
children having a school dinner go into the
dinning hall first together with the reception
packed lunches. Children who have special
dietary needs or are vegetarians are served first
and table by table the rest of the children
collect their lunch. As our food is cooked off
premises usually only enough vegetarian food is
sent over for those children whose parents
indicate they wish their child to have this
option every day at the beginning of the school
year. Children having sandwiches in KS1 KS2
enter the dining hall as soon as there is space
for them, usually just after 12.30pm. All
children are encouraged to eat as much as they
can and are allowed extra time if they are still
eating when the bell goes for the start of
lessons. When the weather is warm and dry KS2
children have their packed lunch outside.
Music lessons if your child is in
KS2 from September and you would like them to
have music lessons in either woodwind, brass or
violin, please see Mrs. Downes for details.
Dogs are recognised
as an important part of life for families that
includes walking to and fro school. However, we
are mindful that some children find the presence
of dogs on the school premises stressful, even
frightening. It is for this reason the school
does not allow dogs on the school grounds .
STOP PRESS As the warmer
weather approaches please will you ensure your
child has a water bottle, sun hat and on very hot
days please apply sun screen before your child
comes to school.
REMEMBER all Newsletters are on the school
website and all activities and dates on a weekly
basis. www.frenchayprimary.ik.org.
