What is DHTML?

• A term not a technology
• A combination of JavaScript and CSS
• Allows advanced effects in IE and NS v4.0
  browsers and higher
• Animation is accomplished by animating layers
  (DIV tags) with JavaScript

DHTML vs. Flash

• Pros of DHTML
• Dont need Flash plugin
• Simpler authoring (with Dreamweaver)
• (But RoboDemo makes Flash easy if you are
  animating a software UI.)
• Cons of DHTML
• Less powerful - Complex animations harder to do
• Browsers handle it differently You may need to
  load separate pages
