What
  • 1on1learning is an online education venture
    providing high quality 1on1 tutoring/educational
learning/assistance at a price point that can
    make such a service ubiquitous
  • The need for online real-time support will grow
with the growth of Online Educational/E-Learning
services. We intend to position ourselves as
service providers who can satisfy this emerging
    market.
  • Our current team includes members of the MIT and
Harvard community. We are trying to recruit
industry and faculty leaders for our Advisory
    Board.
  • We expect our quality/cost ratio to be
    dramatically higher than traditional competitors.

3
Why
  • ELearning Market 46B in 2005
  • Who is providing educational support ? (For
    OpenCourseWare/Online Degrees/E-learning etc)
  • How much does that support cost ?
  • Previously non-viable scenarios can eventually
    become standard ?
  • Every child can have their own live personal
tutor - Personal tutoring at a few dollars an
hour (imagine a qualified teacher always
    available and also affordable)
  • Real-time QA service
  • Research Services

4
How
  • The availability of low-cost but highly skilled
and educated labor in developing countries
  • Low transaction costs on the internet
  • Emergence and rapid growth of online education as
a viable supplement and even alternative to
    classroom learning

5
Next Steps
  • Can it work ?
  • Will we be able to recruit sufficient talented
    employees in developing countries
  • Will they be able to be effective over an online
medium (Build a prototype - need to find a
    school/corporation/partner that will be
    interested in a pilot)
  • Partnerships?
  • (ELearning Companies/Universities/Schools)
  • Exit Strategy
