• Example wood, paper, tissues, fabrics
• Use water or dry chemical extinguishers

• Fires with flammable liquids
• Example gas, lighter fluids, solvents
• Use a carbon dioxide or dry chemical extinguisher

Class C Fires

• Fires involving electricity or electrical devices
• Example computers, photocopiers, toasters
• Use a carbon dioxide or dry chemical extinguisher

• Fires with burning metals
• Example sodium, potassium, aluminum
• Use sand or salt to extinguish

Proper Use of a Fire Extinguisher

• P Pull the pin
• A Aim nozzle at base of the fire
• S Squeeze the trigger and hold the
  extinguisher upright
• S Sweep back and forth over the base of the
  fire to cover all burning material
