Critical Reach Provides Real-Time Distribution of
Photo Alerts
  • Internal Distribution to Officers, Stations
  • Transmit Alerts to Other Jurisdictions to
    Critical Reach Systems, Email, or Fax
  • Transmit Alerts to CommunitySchools, Banks,
    Hospitals, Media, Transportation Centers, etc.

Lets Create and Transmit an Alert

  • This is the Critical Reach Main Menu, the first
    screen after starting the application.
  • Unique system ID and on-site contact show on Main
    Menu
  • Easy to useno hidden commands, single left mouse
    click to perform action.
  • Inboxblinks yellow and beeps when alert is
    RECEIVED for real-time notification
  • System Statusgreen means good connectivity with
    program servers

Click Create New Bulletin to build an alert

  • Follow the prompts to start building an alert.
  • Click to select the number of images in the
    alert0, 1, 2, 3, or 6.

Point at the template of choice and click to
select.

  • All options presented at bottom of screen
  • Just fill in the template provided by the software
  • Case and Author ID are MANDATORY Fieldssome
    data must be entered
  • Tab from one field to the nextskip fields with
    no data to be entered

Point at Image Area and click to insert an image

  • Select source for image. Images can be scanned or
    imported from any drive the computer can
    seeCD-ROM, floppy, hard drive, network drive, or
    digital camera.

  • Clear instructions on cropping are displayed.

Helpful HintFor best results, make the shape of
the selected area the same as the shape of the
image area on the template
  • CR presents your image to crop and/or rotate.
  • To crop the image, hold down left mouse and drag
    box to select just the portion of the picture to
    be placed on the alert.
  • CR will automatically size your image for the
    template.
  • Click Rotate to turn the image 90 degrees.

Click OK to place the selected image area on the
template.

  • Note slide bar on right side to enable you to
    view the full alert.
  • Click View to see alert in finished form,
    proofread before print or transmit.
  • Alert can be printed on any printer seen by the
    computer.

Click Transmit to go to Recipient Selection screen

  • Three ways to select recipientsshown here is
    Attribute Based Recipients
  • User defines geography
  • User defines org types
  • Shared address book supplies all recipients
    defined by those geo/org attributesCR Systems,
    email, fax
  • User can remove any recipient by un-checking box
    on left.
  • User creates a list of recipients, shown at
    bottom of screen. User can select multiple
    geo/org sets and continue to add recipients to
    the list.

Lets Move On to Private Groups of Recipients

  • User enters Group ID and Password
  • Private Groups are created on the Address Book
    site accessed on the Internet
  • Private Groups are confidentialonly those with
    the Group ID and Password can transmit alerts to
    these recipients.
  • Ideal for internal distribution of alerts to
    officers, task force work, or for a recipient
    group not easily defined by geo/org attributes.

Lets Move On to Single Recipients

  • Click the radial button to select Critical Reach
    System, Email Address, or Fax recipient
  • Enter the recipient address information
  • Click Add Selected Recipients to add to list
  • Recipients added as Single Recipients are not
    saved in the address book.

Click Transmit to send alert to all selected
recipients.

  • Add a custom message to all Email recipients
    (optional). The message is typed in white box and
    is displayed below in the form the recipient will
    see it.

Click OK when done.

  • Alerts sent to other Critical Reach Systems and
    Email addresses are at no cost.
  • Alerts sent to faxes cost .07/page. This is
    billed monthly by Easy Link directly to the
    department.

Click OK to transmit the alert. Alerts are
received within minutes by all recipients.

At the Main Menu, click Inbox to view alerts
received by your Critical Reach system from other
systems. OR Click Retrieve Old Bulletins to view
alerts created earlier on your system or received
earlier from other CR Systems.

  • Sort the table by clicking on the column headings
  • Select the alert desired and click Retrieve to
    view it.
  • Note the Display choice in lower left corner.
