the use of wood raw material for energy purposes
    to Russian teachers/instructors at selected
    educational institutions universities,
    colleges
  • to assist in elaborating curriculum, developing
    certain training components and preparing
relevant training material for courses focusing
on production, processing, and use of wood raw
material for energy at the selected educational
    institutions
  • to assist in integrating developed training
components into ordinary education programme for
    young students
  • to assist in providing short courses for further
    training of already employed people
  • to establish networks between Russian and Swedish
    educational institution for sustainable contacts
    and cooperation

4
  • The Subproject is supposed to cover following
    issues
  • Biofuel/wood fuels terminology, definitions,
    characteristics, etc.

Study Tour to Sweden and Finland
The study tour was carried out 1-9 October 2007 .
14 representatives from Moscow State Forest
University, St. Petersburg State Forest
Technical Academy, Lisino Forest College and
Biocenter Lisino have taken part in its
activities.
10
Contact with Swedish Authorities and Higher
Education Institutions
The participants have met the representatives of
the responsible Swedish authorities (Swedish
Energy Agency, Swedish Forestry Agency, Swedish
Environmental Agency), International authorities
(Baltic-21), Swedish and Finnish Higher Education
and Research Institutions (KTH and SLU, Sweden,
Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland)
and had possibility to make acquaintance with
energy policy, environmental policy and related
scientific research and education programs.
