  1. Attach mucus trap to vacuum source
  2. Place catheter into nostril parallel to palate
  3. Apply vacuum
  4. Slowly remove catheter while slightly rotating it
  5. Repeat with other nostril using same catheter
  6. After collection, flush catheter with 3 ml VTM
    and return VTM to a plastic vial
