• Designed or used for collecting or conveying
  storm water
• Which is not a combined sewer and
• Which is not part of a Publicly Owned Treatment
  Works (POTW)

Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System

• Single buildings with stormwater runoff or a
  storm sewer that connects to a permitted Phase I
  or Phase II Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer
  System (MS4) is not included in the Phase II
  Process at this time.

  discharge to another permitted MS4 (i.e., NCDOT,
  Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville/Cumberland
  County, Greensboro, Raleigh, or Winston Salem)?

depending on the activities, potential exposure,
the degree of regulation at the site, the system
of conveyance and/or the stormwater runoff
impact.
