With the aim of supporting all members of the
University of California, Merced community in
their efforts to realize their maximum
potentials, employ the best of current and
evolving technologies and practices to provide
access to information and services informed by
the perspective of each individual user.

Strategic Principles (1)
  • User-oriented perspective emphasize the user
    experience in the design of services, including
    single sign-on, consistent interfaces,
    self-service, role-based navigation, and allow
    choice among desktop platform alternatives.
    Deploy support services based on user needs
    rather than on IT organizational convenience.
  • Ubiquitous access provide secure access to all
    applications and data from residence/office,
    campus, and wide-area locations, supporting the
    evolving panoply of mobile computing,
    telecommunications, and personal assistant
    devices.

    services proven by our peers to be effective,
    open, and scalable.
  • Higher Education community participation commit
    resources towards open-source and multi-campus
