- What did you change in comparison to the
qualification workshops in Bonn? Why? - shorter theoretical part - more practical aspects
instead of a very long theoretical part. - focusing on exercises, practical aspects of
visual methods concerning needs of our target
group. - more material which could be used by teachers
with their students (examples to all of presented
visual methods to be used in the classroom
worked out and handed out in a paper form to all
participants)
4Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- Changes after the first workshop? New content?
- New methods? Why?
- All of the three qualification workshops were
carried out in the - same way with no changes after the first one.
- The only one difference was the duration which we
were forced to - adopt dependently on the organizational
conditions and - agreements between ITeE and the hosting
institutions.
5Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- Choice of methods which ones? why? Which were
very successful? - The most popular and effective methods (according
to the - national report)
- Mind mapping
- Clustering
- Mnemotechniques (practical examples of different
techniques) - Visualization
-
6Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- Workshops were organized in 2 sessions including
some main subjects - 1. Theoretical part
- introduction into Socrates Grundtvig
VisuaLearning project - role and importance of visual thinking (last
findings concerning the subject, scientifically
proved knowledge, specialist terminology) - 2. Practical part
- - visual methods (examples of selected methods
and practical exercises how to use these methods
in the classroom in general and particularly when

clustering, mnemotechniques, visualization - - power of images
- - learning styles (test for participants)
- - support of new media (slightly)
- - final discussion at the end of workshops -

possibility of transfer - in the classroom?
- Workshops were assessed positively according to
evaluation - questionnaires. Participants found all methods as
a very - interesting and useful activity worthy to

the classroom. -
8Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- Results What kind of support do the trainers
need? What are - the core findings and recommendations regarding
the common - concept?
- Teachers wish to have a kind of compendium on
visual methods and - their practical use.
- Our guidebook very welcome!
9Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- What can we do to get further materials from the
trainers for the project (for the
gallery/website/guide) good practice examples,
reports, pictures? - Some suggestions and proposals
- to use the most interesting photoes from the
national workshops from each partner country - To use the examples of good practices placed in
the national reports or gathered in partner
countries - To select some images from the free source given
by Dirk in the last Newsletter - To ask the national network for the contribution
to our guide
10Project Socrates Grundtvig 1 VisuaLearning
- Recommendations for the final concept
- Some elements which were used during the
workshops in POLAND - the relaxation music between sessions
- presentation with examples of selected methods
e.g. mnemotechniques, mind mapping, clustering,
visualization (not only the theory but first of
all practical presentation) - learning styles test
- Remark practical exercises are a good method to
mobilize and establish a contact with
participants (e.g. we used the exercise with
selecting pictures carried out during the
workshops in Bonn). -
