3What facts did you write? We will write each
sum-of-5 fact as a number model on this board
until all of the facts and their turn-arounds are
listed. Do not repeat a fact.

6Thinking time . . . be ready to answer
How many ways can you roll 2 or 12? How many
ways can you roll 9 (or 5)? Why are there more
facts in the 7 column than in any of the other
columns? For which sums are there an even number
of facts? Why do odd sums have an even umber of
facts? For which sums are there an odd number of
facts? Why do even sums have an odd number of
facts?
7Good Work!

carefully.
11Addition Top-It
Directions 1. Shuffle the deck and place it
number-side down. 2. Each player turns over 2
cards and call out the sum. Use the
addition/subtraction Facts Table, if
necessary. 3. The players with the largest sum
wins the round and takes all of the cards. 4.
In case of a tie, each tied player turns over 2
more cards. The player with the largest sum
takes all of the cards from both plays. 5. The
game ends when not enough cards are left for each
player to have another turn. 6. The player with
the most cards win. Alternative Play for the
lowest sum, and the player with the least cards
wins.
Tally the "cards" each player wins . . .
