presentations we have done in the department have
stimulated my creative ideas in designing and

- As an English major, I believe I can perform well
in journalism studies. First of all, the
translation course I took for one year, as well
as the three-year composition and conversation
training, allows me to translate correctly and
efficiently in oral and written Chinese the news
from BBC news or CNN. Through analyzing lots of
English literary works, I have mastered the
skills of catching the main points of an event
and organizing them in a clear order. The
courses such as American Literature and Modern
and Contemporary American Poetry, furthermore,
allow me to understand the gaps among different
cultures or races in the U.S. and, by extension,
all over the world, and thus analyze the world
news in sufficient depth and relate them to
Taiwan.
