Who are Norfolk School Sport Partnerships? Schoo
l Sport Partnerships bring together schools
across Norfolk to develop Physical Education (PE)
and school sport opportunities for young people.
Working in partnership with Norfolk LEA we are
committed to increasing levels of participation,
both in PE and through a range of sporting
opportunities before, during and after the school
day. There is also considerable evidence to
demonstrate that sport can help raise levels of
attainment and achievement across the curriculum,
and locally we have been using sport as a tool to
improve whole school standards. 8 SSPs across the
County, which one do you feed into?

The Competition Team are working with schools,
the Norfolk School Sport Partnerships and
National Governing Bodies of sport to promote and
increase participation in Inter School
Competition. Whats on Offer? Norfolk SSP
Competition Calendar 2010/11 Cluster,
Partnership, County Final, Regional and National
Competitions Virtual Competitions Small Schools
Leagues and Festivals Every Childs School Sport
Matters

National Curriculum Requirement for Physical
Education Physical Education is a compulsory
component of the curriculum from key stage one to
four and At key stage one pupils should be
taught three areas of activity games,
gymnastics and dance At key stage two children
should be taught six areas of activity as KS1
plus swimming, OAA, athletics At key stage three
study in PE should include activities that cover
at least four aspects that include outwitting
opponents accurate replication of actions
exploring and communicating ideas performing at
maximum levels identifying and solving problems
exercising safely and effectively At key stage
four study in PE should include activities that
cover at least two of the aspects highlighted at
KS3
