Sunset
When I feel fatigued, furious, frustrated, I
love to find someone to talk to,someone who
listens to me patiently, someone who comforts me
gently,someone who keeps my secrets.
Although the times that we meet are few,I still
treasure the time we spend together.Whenever he
disappears, I miss miss his beautiful round face
so much, and I wait for him,and I wait for
him,At the same time, and the same place each
day.
I have found beauty in this someone. He is
everything, everything that I want.
by Laurel Pang
When I am feeling blue, with his radiant shade of
red and orange,he is a great comfort to me.
Sun brings life into my deepest hope, sticks
with me through whatever I try.He directs me
down the right path, and saves me from making a
mistake.

In the Year I Learned to Spell My Name
In the year I spell my name, Candy and Mary were
my friends, Them I never ever blamed. Trends
were nothing compared to my friends, Who played
and laughed and cried with me. Every day seemed
to have no end, Smiles and laughter were part of
me.
  • In the year I learned to spell my name,
  • The world is something I didnt understand,
  • Nothing was ever the same.
  • The sun, the moon and the stars,
  • That were what I drew on the walls.
  • I knew nothing about war,
  • Just leave me alone with my dolls!
  • In the year I learned to spell my name,
  • Three times seven equaled twenty one,
  • Black and white to me were the same.
  • Running and rushing from here
  • to there, no one could stop me.
  • There was nothing I did not dare,
  • Unless it was drinking hot, hot tea.

  • A rush,
  • A gust,
  • Sweeps me with a terrifying force,
  • Tumbling, falling, sinking,
  • Away from my heavenly course.
  • A fallen leaf between the branches,
  • I lie in a dark space,
  • But still the sky watches over me,
  • With benign serenity and grace.
  • And when blackness gives in to gold,
  • I try again with all my might
  • To lift up my head
  • And fly to the first ray of light.
  • Higher, higher, higher
  • I flyI know I will
  • But vast, and blue and endless

The Vast, Blue, Endless Sky Vast, blue and
endless, It hovers above me. From birth I have
watched it, From my home of twigs and
leaves. From the gold of a fallen feather, To
the pink of my baby beak, My colours change as
the sun moves, Across the heavenly sea. I long
to touch the smoothness Of the ever-changing
sky. So one day, as clouds float in the
distance, I lift my wings and fly. Rising,
flying, soaring, With the wind whistling in my
ears, I flap my wings oh, what joy! My greatest
dream moves me to tears.

A Place in the Sun
A place in the sun Where every moment is fun
A stroll by the stream This is not a dream
A friend in hand Wont ever misunderstand
Hunger is a stranger War is no danger
Where are you from? From where did you come?

Light breezes comb through the pasture. Carried
by wind, innocent voices of rapture. Diffused
into a pale burgundy, first blue Then crimson
red. A crimson red so true. From all around, the
sunrays they came. So did warmth from crackling
wild-fire flame. Clouds silent music drifting
free, Melodious and clear, as clear as clear can
be. Horse chestnut, oak and sycamore, Gold and
red were colours they wore, Herb and flower,
reed-grass and tree, Lion and tiger, snake and
centipede.
Nature at its Max

Furious and fast, the waterfall spills Arching
across rocks, amazingly it thrills. The veil,
sparkling, crystal and cool, Lands and lingers in
lace-edge pools. Tuned in to the water and bird
sound, Hair let down to the creeping forest
ground Chimpanzees swing from vine to
vine, Behind the commotion, a haven peaceful and
fine.

  • The Blue Yonder
  • Like a blanket up above
  • Fluffy cotton floats
  • Sometimes like an angel and
  • Other times a peaceful dove
  • Your rounded friend is always there, when
  • Good days come and all is well, the
  • Passion lingers in the air
  • Till when darkness arrives to dwell
  • Before tranquil darkness comes into view
  • Crimson and violet fill the blanket
  • Golden trimmings garnish with pride
  • And join the shimmering mirror as one
  • Sparkling diamonds and the moon
  • Silence the rest with harmony
  • As no one dares to sing a tune, so as
  • To keep the grace eternally
  • And that best describes your camouflage
  • From blue to crimson, back to black
  • Watching you through the windowpane
  • Your charm medicates my soul with serenity

A Perfect Place
Take off the antipathetic glassAnd sleep upon
the emerald grass. This is a place without filthy
air,Somewhere I would like to share.
Even student with different ideasStill can study
in harmonyWe study with no pressureTime spent
at school we have to treasure.
We hope our words are heardAnd parents make
decision based on our wordWe dont need a
materialistic lifeBut only a hug when we want to
cry.
This is a dream that I have again and againBut
things in our world will never change.Every time
I read Utopias file,My face carries with it a
little smile.

A Mirror
Preening in front of the mirror, A reflection On
a shiny plane. Deep concentration A rainbow of
colours. Staring in to the mirror, An
image Duplicated in reverse. Waging The battle of
success.
Singing before the mirror, Dreaming About the
years ahead. Beautifying The world theyre
in. Looking at the mirror, Wrinkles, Evidence of
time. Joy and sorrow Shall be kept as
memories. Ingrid Chung

A stroll in the woods
  • Strolling in the golden woods
  • With one hand clutching am book
  • I stepped into the green
  • threshold of verdant trees
  • My mind wandered wide and free
  • With whispering winds whooshing wistfully
  • I stood to feel the light cool breeze
  • Sniffing the sweet fragrance that the wild flower
    yields
  • Inhaling the enchanting aroma coming form the
    fields
  • As I lay in the grass
  • Experiencing autumn
  • Warm sunlight shines from the deep blue sky
  • And lights up the leaves and flowers that round
    me grow
  • Up a rough tree trunk I try to crawl
  • Hoever, into the mess of brown leaves I fall
  • Feeling the rustle of leaves against my face
  • Even with the silence, animals still remain
  • Like the birds who twitter all day long
  • Like the wolves who prowl for prey
  • Like the tree squirrel which, throughout the day
  • Canters from tree to tree
  • It may indeed seem a fantasy
  • As I take myself further into the woods
  • As I walk the spirits of this place cling
  • Its more magical than any place, anything
  • Gazing towards the setting sun
  • I know nature lies in the depths beneath.

  • Anna Sui mascara,
A crack in the cement ahead,
  • Six-inch-highheels,
she cares only her new dress,
  • Looks-like-real fur,
she slips and she falls ,
  • And rose perfume.
People are shocked, and turn away,

  • Shame is all she feels.
  • Channel sunglasses,
  • Gucci handbag,
    And there,
  • Estee Lauder lipstick
    Canvas trainers ,
  • And a diamond ring.
    Ripped t-shirt,

  • long, unkempt hair,
  • She looks up at the sky,
    Knee-length trousers,
  • And all she sees in her own eyes, the
    ugly duckling bends
  • Is she, herself.
    And extends her hands

  • She smiles,

The Dying Sea
  • The pulsing sound of moving sea,
  • The oceans quiet tranquility.
  • Softly there comes a whipping breeze,
  • Whistling and blowing with such ease.
  • Beneath the rippling ocean waves,
  • Lies a great paradise, day after day.
  • Where coral reefs dance and seaweed sway, Such
    a beautiful thing on earth,
  • Where baby seals frolic and seahorses play.
Shouldnt it stay forever after birth?
  • The ocean was once clean and bright,
  • Listening to the oceans deep, But now her
    beauty is out of sight.
  • There comes a song, a melody.
  • A song of harmony, a song of peace, Garbage,
    oil and endless waste.
  • As the sea nymphs start to sing to me. These we
    feed without distaste.
  • Choke her down with salty tears!
  • Drowning out her cries of fear.
  • The ocean was once clean and bright,
  • But now her beauty is out of sight.
Oh, can we no longer tell black from white?

Distorted Beauty I learned the facts long ago
thatBeauty means having big, round eyeswhich
every girl desires, used, of course, to flirt and
show others, Beauty queens have the same
look, impossibly thin and skinnylike a child
suffering from mal-nutrition.Size zero is the
goal of many. Beauty means having an hour-glass
figurewith big breasts and a slim waist. No
chance to stand out from the crowdif you do not
have these traits. Having flawless skin is what
we needYounger, fairer, smoother, whiterare
slogans of products of perfectionembedded into
our minds.
These are the facts I learnt long
agoTrademarks of a womans beautyConcepts of
distorted beauty,Products of the beauty
industrychanging all our perceptions. Remember,
my companion,Its the outside that counts!

Beauty in Nature
During daylight, In the sky scattered
sunlight, Droplets become visible as clouds, A
rainbow spans a spectrum of colours, All things
appear to be still and quiet. When the wind
blows, The wild eyes glow. All wildlife roars
with joy. With immense gratification, The world
seems to come awake. The sea blue and calm, The
waves sway up and down. The fish follow these
waves, Streaming through the hollow cave, Trying
to hide from light and heat. How great is
nature! All things bright and beautiful, All
creatures great and small. All things wise and
wonderful, They bring warmth to our earth. Who
made all of them? Are they going to stay? Where
did they come from? Does it matter anyway?

In the Eyes of a Baby
In the Eyes of a Baby
He scrunches up his chubby face, Wrinkles up his
stubby nose. His brown eyes start to water
up, When he bursts, no one knows. His cherry-red
mouth starts to open up Into a teeny-weeny little
square shape. When he looks at the TV, he likes
what he sees A superhero in a long red cape.
He breaks into a sunny smile, Nose wrinkles in
delight. He gurgles, he dribbles, His eyes
shining in the light. No whimper, no wail, The
former tension dies. No crying, no
howling, Theres only beauty in his eyes.

Falling
Teetering on the edge of this Bottomless Pit -I
slip and start to fall But wait-no. No. Im
going back. Breathe in And out The wind making my
hair go wild I care not what was happening Only
what is about to. Again this mysterious force
is Pushing me towards a swirling vortex Thats
so strange yet beautiful Its magnificence is
beyond comprehension. I feel as if I may slip
again, In danger of falling, Endlessly, into the
depths Of this everlasting darkness.
I swayed back and forth, Like the waves that
belong to the sea, Yet yearn to be with the
sand. I give up. I let myself go down Deeper,
faster Into this unknown abyss As if it were
calling me, Singing to me in its own way Like a
message only meant for me to see. Teetering on
the edge of this Bottomless pit- I fall This is
how I feel When staring into Your
translucent, Limitless, Unfathomable Eyes.
