• 1000 Meters (m) equals a Kilometer (km).

• Centimeters are used to measure small lengths.
• A centimeter is approximately equal to the width
  of your thumb nail.
• We would use centimeters to measure the length of
  a carrot or a paper clip.

• The meter is the basic unit of length.
• A meter is approximately equal to the distance
  from your shoulder to the end of your opposite
  extended arm.
• We can use meters to measure the length of a car
  or your height.

• A kilometer is 1000 meters put together one
