    forces
  • Doolittles Raid April 18, 1942 Lt. Doolittle
    led 16 bombers to attack Tokyo.
  • Battle of the Coral Sea Americans and
    Australians. May 1942 over the course of 5 days,
    turned Japanese invasion back.

Battle of Midway
  • Japanese planned attack on Hawaii.
  • Admiral Chester Nimitz moved to block the attack.
  • Sent planes to bomb the approaching ships,
    considered the avenging of Pearl Harbor
  • Battle of Midway was the turning point of the war
    in the Pacific.

    Japanese people from California, Washington,
    Oregon, Arizona.
