- Index cards.all small size
- Big yellow envelopeto keep materials in

- to print information off in the computer lab

- Must have 4 (four) resources total and at least 1
(one) book. - Sources from Internet must be legitimate sites.
- Use your Public Library
- If you check something out, return it.
- Use your time wisely

- Note cards (opt.) I will not take a grade on
these, however I will be taking a grade on
progress, and this is a good way to determine if

7Requirements
- Final Draft
- Must be typed
- 12 pt. Times New Roman Font
- 1 inch margins all the way around
- Double spaced
- Use (document) all 4 sources at least once within
the paper - Works Cited page at end alphabetized
8Formatting
- Italicize names of Books when you are typing.
- Underline them when you are writing.
- But DO NOT do both!
- Nothing should be underlined in the final draft

21Presentation Requirements
- You will present your discoveries about the
authors using first person point of view
however, the paper is in 3rd person. - Must utilize at least one prop. One of the
following - Dress choices 1)Sunday dress OR 2) time period
of author - PowerPoint Presentation which includes pictures
and supplemental information - Create a compelling poster to explain all the
important aspects of your authors life.

- Presentations are important because they will be
given before the SOL test, further instructing
and educating you regarding different authors. - Count as ONE UNIT TEST GRADE

- Research Paper will count as 1 UNIT TEST GRADE
and 1 WRITING GRADE - You will be graded on the following
- Structure and appearance or format
- Grammatical structure
- Correct use of documentation
- Using all 4 resources
- Content and composure

- Be sure to put things into your own words.
- Even if you paraphrase something, you still must
document it. - The entire paper SHOULD NOT be documented. Use
your own thoughts to create the paper.
