Part Names Definitions

• Adjusting Nut - used to increase or decrease the
  depth of cut.
• Frame - body of the plane, determines its size.
• Frog - determines the angle that the plane iron
  is held at.
• Handle - used to apply pressure and direction at
  the rear of the plane.
• Knob - used to apply pressure and direction to
  the front of the plane.

• Lateral Adjusting Lever - used to regulate an
  even shaving thickness.
• Lever Cap - holds the plane iron in place and
  prevents chatter.
• Plane Iron - part of the plane that does the
  cutting.
• Plane Iron Cap - gives stiffness to cutting edge,
  prevents chattering, and breaks shavings.
