  • Vibrations cause ossicles (ear bones) to move
  • Vibrates the liquid in the cochlea
  • Vibrations sent to nerve endings in cochlea
  • Impulses sent on auditory nerve to brain

4
A question of balance.
  • Changes in movement can effect your balance
  • Semicircular canals
  • 3 fluid filled canals
  • Hair like nerve cells stimulated by movements
  • Nerve impulse sent to brain

5
Skin
  • Layers (tissues)
  • Epidermis
  • Dermis
  • Subcutaneous (fat)
  • Sebaceous gland
  • Oil gland
  • Sensory nerve endings
  • Blood vessels
  • Sweat glands

6
Skin function
  • Sweat
  • Liquid released from sweat gland to cool the body
  • Water on the skin evaporates and cools the body

7
Acne or pimples
