Title: Dahlberg Family Photos
1The Dahlberg Saga Current family records begin
with Carl Gustav Dahlberg (1857-1924 in Sala,
Westmanland. He was a skilled tanner and a photo
of his shop is in a cultural display in
Stockholm. Why and exactly when he adopted the
surname Dahlberg and abandoned the patronymic
system is unclear, but it is known that his
father's name was Johan and he was born Johansson
since brothers and sisters wrote their names as
Johan, Johanna, Anna Sofia and Lars Erik
Johansson. Carl Gustav married Katarina Sofia
Persdotter (1852-1921) in 1880. Their children
were Carl Theodor, Anna Elisabet (Lisen), Harald
Gustav, Sigfrid, Elin Sophia and Albert Veneer.

3Carl Teodor Dahlberg (1880-1960) learned
blacksmithing as an apprentice probably
introduced by his tanner father to a customer who
was a sled and carriage maker whose product was
dependent on the combination of good leather and
metal work. In 1901 he received a good
recommendation from Aktiebolaget C.M. Wibergs,
Vagn- och Redskapsfabrik in Ransta, Sala region
which describes his apprenticeship and work as a
blacksmith there. He began work there 1 Mar
1896, states "han undertiden utbildet sig till
en god smed" In his artifacts are a clipping of
the obituary of C.M. Wiberg. He received another
recommendation 14 Jun 1902 from C. Oberg,
Vasteras, with whom he had worked in 1901.
