• Exodus 241-8
• Before Moses ever went into the Mount, Israel
  was instructed in the Law and covenanted to obey
  it.
• v.4 And Moses wrote all the words of the
  Lord.
• v.7 Now it was a binding
• commandment/ covenant because there had
  been a sacrifice.

• Exodus 2418 40 days and nights
• To receive the higher law!
• During his forty-day fast upon the mount, Moses
  received every detail needed for the construction
  of a tabernacle, a house of the Lord, where
  Israel could come and receive the keys of
  salvation and exaltation.
• The tie between this tabernacle and latter-day
  temples is unmistakable.

• Make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among
  them.

  for the construction of the tabernacle.

• Coals were placed on the altar each morning and
  evening, symbolic of prayer and obtaining the
  presence of God.

• Exodus 31 Moses received the stone
  tablets!

• And he gave to Moses when he had made an end of
  communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables
  of testimony, tables of stone, written with the
  finger of God.

• Israel rebels against preparatory gospel while
  Moses was receiving the higher law.

• This is a legitimate attempt at Jehovah worship,
  not idol worship. Aaron was almost destroyed
  because of his involvement (Deut. 920).
• It is evident that Aaron intended that the true
  God should be the object of their worship through
  an idolatrous medium, the molten calf.
