Vehicle Assaults

the assault techniques that deal with personal
passenger vehicles such as vans, cars, and
    trucks.
  • Bus, Train, Plane, and Boat assaults are advanced
in nature and demand intense instruction and
practical application. These type of assaults
will not be covered by this period of
instruction. They are titled Linear Vehicle
    Assaults.

5
Assault Techniques
  • Passive Assaults (Narcotics Buy Busts)
  • Dynamic Assaults (Hostage Rescue)

Passive Vehicle Assault Vehicle Positions
  • Front Block
  • The front block is the preferred method for
assaulting from a vehicle due to immediate
visibility of the suspects within the vehicle.
The Windshield is laminated and it is highly
    unlikely to be tinted.
  • Rear Block
  • The rear block is generally used for stealthy
approaches and tends to be used more often for
passive suspect control. A breach may be
warranted due to the configuration of the vehicle
and the tint on windows. Side windows are
tempered glass and have a high chance of
    deflection.
