CHECK
CALL
911 or your local emergency number.
Treat any possible life threatening injuries,
keep the victim safe from further harm.
CARE
6TREATMENT OF INJURIES.
The treatment depends on what injury you
determined that the victim had. Possible
examples would be Heat stroke- the victims skin
would be hot with little or no evidence of
sweating. Get the victim out of the heat, cool
the body down as quickly as possible by using
cold water or ice placed about the neck and
armpits, and call 911 for assistance.

Objective- The purpose of this lesson is for the
students to test their knowledge of various first
aid situations, their symptoms, and
treatment. Activity- The students will view the
illustration. Then, using their imagination,
state the emergency and symptoms, list the 3
general emergency action procedure steps (check,
call, care), describe how they would care for the
specific injury. Process- Click the screen to
move to the next page. Allow the students 5-10
minutes to write their responses. Tell them to
use paragraph form to answer the questions. Keep
the illustration on the screen as they write.
