  • Can it shackle us with guilt?

3
A Vicious Cycle
  • Human perfection is simply not attainable
  • Satan tempts us
  • We compare ourselves to others
  • What are they doing that Im not? 2 Corinthians
    1012
  • Everyone succumbs to sin. Romans 323

4
Three Things We Can Do With Sin
  • We can resolve to never sin again.
  • Impossible!
  • We can let sin make us a coward.
  • Like Judas
  • We can learn from our sin.
  • Like Peter

5
Forgiveness is Not a One Time Event
  • Hebrews 725 - there is no one beyond Gods power
    to save.
  • 1 John 18-23 - Jesus is our advocate.
  • As long as we confess our sin, and seek Gods
forgiveness, we can be assured that we remain in
    good favor with God!

6
Our God Does Not Give Up On Us

2 Corinthians 1012
  • For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves
with some of those who commend themselves but
when they measure themselves by themselves and
compare themselves with themselves, they are
    without understanding.

9
Romans 323
  • all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
    God,

10
Hebrews 725
  • Therefore He is able also to save forever those
who draw near to God through Him, since He always
lives to make intercession for them.

1 John 18-23
  • 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving
ourselves and the truth is not in us.
  • 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
    us from all unrighteousness.
  • 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him
a liar and His word is not in us.
  • 1 My little children, I am writing these things
to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone
sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus
    Christ the righteous
  • 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our
sins and not for ours only, but also for those
    of the whole world.
  • 3 By this we know that we have come to know Him,
    if we keep His commandments.
