Activated Pores
3Natural Additive
- Cocona fabric technology is derived from active
particles from natural sources - technology is covered under patent protection.
- The active particle structure is micro-porous.
- This vast micro-pore structure differentiates the
performance of Cocona fabrics from competitors. - Cocona fabrics naturally adsorb disperse
moisture and UV light. - Cocona denim stay fresher longer.
4Cocona Technology
- Customers are a critical driver for greater
sustainability in clothing. - While price remains the key differentiator, there
- is increasing evidence that customers do care
more about how their clothes are made. - This is a great opportunity to inform and
catalyze improvement. - Brands and retailers that grasp this trend
earliest will benefit most.
5Why customers want Cocona Fabrics
- It uses natural technology instead of fabric
treatments. - Green is in. The Cocona natural technology
comes from recycled materials. - The Cocona brand is friendly and appealing.
- It dries faster than any other performance
fabric. It is easy to demonstrate and quickly
noticed.

Garments made with Cocona fabric dry 50 faster
than the nearest competitive quick drying
fabric and 300 faster than Coolmax!

7Energy Saving Benefit of Quick Drying
- The largest part of Apparel's carbon footprint is
the washing drying (82 of the life time energy
consumption) - Manufacturing, disposal, packaging makes up
remaining 18 - Current competitive products consume 50 to 300
more energy to dry than products containing
Cocona yarn - When blending Cocona yarn with cotton similar
results occur versus other poly/cotton blends
8Carbon Footprint
Independent studies show that most of the energy
consumption involved with apparel pertains to
after a garment is manufactured. Washing and
drying consume far more energy than the actual
manufacturing process.
9Electrical current versus time Cocona and Denim
loads.
10Carbon Footprint of Garments. Denim Pants
Abstract The clothes dryer is the largest portion
of the energy profile for garments so the
reduction in the energy used by the clothes dryer
has the biggest impact on energy savings for
garments. The energy use for drying of denim
pants made with 100 cotton fibers and a blend of
Cocona/cotton yarn was performed. It was
determined that denim pants containing 100
cotton yarn uses 34 more energy to dry compared
to denim pants made with 37 Cocona yarn and 63
cotton yarn. The reduction in energy use was
measured by monitoring the voltage, current,
temperature and relative humidity in a consumer
clothes dryer.

11Primary Benefits
- Quick drying comfort and performance
- Significantly enhanced drying performance over
other poly and poly/cotton blends - Improved comfort and wear ability throughout
daily and performance activity - Patented process utilizing recycled naturally
occurring crystals - Natural crystals from the earth recovered and
recycled from other manufacturing processes - Earth friendly
- Environmentally friendly process requiring no
additional energy to manufacture we use the
wastes from the filtration business to acquire
crystals
12- Cocona DENIM Benefits
-
- There are four reasons why Cocona denim make
sense - 1. Evaporative Cooling - Cocona denim dries
faster providing increased comfort and reducing
the amount of time and energy required to dry
after washing. - 2. Easy Care - Cocona denim wrinkles less. Also
the fabric traps odors to keep the jeans fresher
longer and reducing the need for daily washing. - 3. Durable - Cocona denim performance is
permanently embedded in the yarn and will not
wash out. Cocona denim also lasts longer than
denim made from 100 cotton. - 4. Comfort - Jeans made using Cocona yarn are
available in all weights. They feel fresher and
are more comfortable than ordinary denim.
13Dry Comfort
- Cocona Denim dries faster
- The micro porous Cocona crystals increase surface
area which accelerates evaporation - Cocona Jeans provide an additional two tennis
courts of surface area versus normal denim. - As you spread water across the crystals the rate
of evaporation accelerates keeping the denim dry. - Evaporating moisture is also how your body cools
itself .Cocona denim increases comfort.
14Easy Care
- Cocona particles naturally adsorb odor
molecules into their micro porous structure and
trap them. - Normal laundering releases the odor molecules and
refresh the particles. - Less laundering and Fresher Denim.
- The denim also wrinkles less than 100 cotton.
15Durable
- Cocona technology is permanently embedded within
the fiber. - Will not wear out.
- Will not wash off.
- Less laundering will extend the life the Cocona
jeans. And the Cocona denim lasts longer
16UV Protection
- It is estimated that over 1 million new cases of
skin cancer occur annually in USA. MedicineNet
inc. - UVA and UVB rays absorbed naturally into the
Cocona particle even when wet. - Up to 50 UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor)
- No chemical treatments
- Will not wear out or wash off
17Reliable
- Cocona yarn technology is developed tested.
- It has been tested throughout the manufacturing
process to ensure performance. - The performance of Cocona yarn is measured to
ensure reliable benefits for your customer.
