5
WHAT IS AN INTERNSHIP
  • An internship is a relevant work experience
related to your major which may occur during the
    fall, spring, or summer semester.
  • Internships provide students with an opportunity
to make important connections between theory and
application by applying what they have learned in
the classroom to practical work experience
closely related to their major/career interest.
If you have seen a concept in action on the job,
it will make more sense when you study it in the
    classroom.
  • Interning will also help you confirm your
career choice. Some students even change their
majors because of their internship experience.
Interning is one of the best ways to discover
what professionals do on a daily basis.
