2 3Some have the Idea that God does not Exist -
Atheism
- No atheist can emphatically affirm that there is
no God unless he can affirm that he is both
omniscient and omnipresent - If he does not know everything then theres the
possibility that he does not know about the true
God - If he cant be everywhere at once then there
maybe a place that God is and he isnt
4Some have the Idea that Goddoes not Exist -
Atheism
- (Ps 141) The fool hath said in his heart, There
is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good. - (Ps 191) The heavens declare the glory of God
and the firmament sheweth his handywork. - (Heb 34) For every house is builded by some
man but he that built all things is God.
5Some have the Idea thatGod is all things
Pantheism
- Pantheism, is the belief that the essence of God
is in all things. It is often associated with
nature religions, including many American Indian,
African, and ancient Middle Eastern religions. In
these religions, gods are connected with such
things as storms, stars, the sky, the sea,
fertility, and skill in hunting. In the Japanese
Shinto tradition, gods are identified with
natural objects, including rocks and trees. In a
more general sense, pantheism refers to any
religious philosophy that identifies God with
nature. - (World Book Encyclopedia)
6Some have the Idea thatGod is all things
Pantheism
- In a sense there is no such thing as God, God
does not exist. And in another sense, there is
nothing else but Godonly God exists. . . All is
God. And because all is God, there is no God - (Benjamin Crème, The Reappearance of the Christ
and the Masters of Wisdom, p. 110) - (Ps 902) Before the mountains were brought
forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and
the world, even from everlasting to everlasting,
thou art God.
7Some have the Idea thatGod is all things
Pantheism
- (Rom 122-25) Professing themselves to be wise,
they became fools, And changed the glory of the
uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted
beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also
gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of
their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies
between themselves Who changed the truth of God
into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed
for ever. Amen.
8Some have the Idea that God Created and Left Man
Deism
- Deism, is a religious and philosophic belief.
Deism rejects most conventional forms of
religion, accepting reason as the only guide to
truth. It embraces the concept of God, however,
in the limited sense of a creator, or first
cause, of the physical and moral laws of the
universe. Deists compare God's act of creation to
that of a watchmaker who builds a watch, sets it
in motion, and then refuses to intervene in its
actions. - (World Book Encyclopedia)
9Some have the Idea that God Created and Left Man
Deism
- To Create a universe and intelligent beings and a
moral code, but not care enough to give
instruction to this creation, is unconceivable
unreasonable - Do we have children and then allow them to grow
any way they feel without our intervention? - (Prov 2215) Foolishness is bound in the heart
of a child but the rod of correction shall drive
it far from him. - (Eph 64) And, ye fathers, provoke not your
children to wrath but bring them up in the
nurture and admonition of the Lord.
10Some have the Idea that God Created and Left Man
Deism
- Fathers that do not take care for children we
call Deadbeat Dads - Are the Deist better and more righteous than God?
- (Job 417) Shall mortal man be more just than
God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? - We think of Deadbeat Dads as morally wrong
- Their own doctrine makes God morally wrong!
- (Ps 14517) The Lord is righteous in all his
ways, and holy in all his works.
11Some have the Idea that God Created and Left Man
Deism
- They accept reason as the only guide to truth
- Reason shows us that a just God which created us
and gave us a moral law would give us instruction
as a father gives his child! - (2 Tim 316-17) All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness That the man of God
may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works.
12Some have the Idea that Godspower is limited to
Evolution
- Theistic Evolution
- (Gen 11) In the beginning God created the
Heaven and the earth. - (Gen 126-27) And God said, Let us make man in
our image, after our likeness and let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over
all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in
his own image, in the image of God created he
him male and female created he them.
13Some have the Idea that Godspower is limited to
Evolution
- Words of Jesus Christ
- (John 13) All things were made by him and
without him was not any thing made that was
made. - Good Credentials!
- (Matt 194) Have ye not read, that he which made
them at the beginning made them male and female. - (Mark 106) But from the beginning of the
creation God made them male and female.
14Some have the Idea that God Evolved Over Time
with Mans Ideas
- They claim that Jehovah of the Old Testament was
vengeful and the Jehovah of the New Testament is
benevolent - Over time Man went from primitive thinking to
more modern thinking and his perception of God
also Evolved MODERNISM - Completely in disagreement with the truth!
15Some have the Idea that God Evolved Over Time
with Mans Ideas
- God is revealed to be just as fierce in the New
Testament and just as benevolent in the Old - (Mal 36) For I am the Lord, I change not
- Benevolence of the Old Testament
- (Psalms 23)
- Shepherd Protection
- I shall not want Sustaining
- Restoreth my soul Righteousness Mercy
16Some have the Idea that God Evolved Over Time
with Mans Ideas
- God is revealed to be just as fierce in the New
Testament and just as benevolent in the Old - (Mal 36) For I am the Lord, I change not
- Judgment of God in the New Testament
- (Acts 51-11) Ananias and Sapphira lied to the
Holy Ghost and dropped dead! - (Acts 1221-23) Herod he gave not God the
glory and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the
ghost.
17Some have the Idea that God Evolved Over Time
with Mans Ideas
- (Rom 1122) Behold therefore the goodness and
severity of God on them which fell, severity
but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in
his goodness otherwise thou also shalt be cut
off. - God does not Change If we fail to obey, we will
be lost!
18Some have the Idea that God is Physical and is
Like Man
- God is a Spiritual Being
- (John 423-24) But the hour cometh, and now is,
when the true worshippers shall worship the
Father in spirit and in truth for the Father
seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit
and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth.
19Some have the Idea that God is Physical and is
Like Man
- Man thinks One Religion is as good as another so
he thinks God feels this way too. - (Matt 157-9) Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias
prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh
unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with
their lips but their heart is far from me. But
in vain they do worship me, teaching for
doctrines the commandments of men.
20Some have the Idea that God is Physical and is
Like Man
- Man thinks One Religion is as good as another so
he thinks God feels this way too. - (Matt 1514) Let them alone they be blind
leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the
blind, both shall fall into the ditch. - The One that will be accepted is the One that
Obeys Gods will - (Matt 721) Not every one that saith unto me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven.
21Some have the Idea that God is Physical and is
Like Man
- God is not like man our ways are not His ways!
- (Isa 557-9) Let the wicked forsake his way, and
the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him
return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon
him and to our God, for he will abundantly
pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts.
22Some have the Idea that Godis too Good to Condemn
- God is good and loves us more than we can
comprehend - (Rom 58) But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us. - God is also just
- (Gal 67) Be not deceived God is not mocked
for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap.
23Some have the Idea that Godis too Good to Condemn
- Sow sin and reap punishment for sin
- (Isa 592) But your iniquities have separated
between you and your God, and your sins have hid
his face from you, that he will not hear. - Man condemns himself
- (Acts 1346) Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold,
and said, It was necessary that the word of God
should first have been spoken to you but seeing
ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy
of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
24Some have the Idea that Godis too Good to Condemn
- God did his part to save us!
- (John 316-17) For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into
the world to condemn the world but that the
world through him might be saved. - (1 John 22) And he is the propitiation for our
sins and not for ours only, but also for the
sins of the whole world.
25Some have the Idea that Godis too Good to Condemn
- Jesus paid the debt that we owed
- (Acts 240) Save yourselves from this untoward
generation. - Save yourself not by paying the debt
- By being obedient to Gods commands!
26Be Obedient to His Commands
- Believe and Obey the Gospel of Christ
- (Mark 1615-16) Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature. He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he
that believeth not shall be damned. - Endure in his doctrine unto the end
- (Mark 1313) And ye shall be hated of all men
for my name's sake but he that shall endure unto
the end, the same shall be saved.
