Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse

Roles and Responsibilities for Shipping

• Receive orders from other departments or vendors.
  These orders then need to be processed and
  tracked if necessary.
• Picking orders and making sure they are packaged
  properly

Roles and Responsibilities for Receiving

• Ensure that deliverer has proper paperwork and
  correct order.
• Sign required documents to receive shipment.
• Upon receiving shipment, make sure it goes to
  the correct department.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Warehouse

• We organize the warehouse accordingly. Assuming
  we have a refrigeration system, we will need to
  make sure it is operating correctly.
• We work closely with all departments because
  anything that is ordered comes through us. We
  will also work very closely with Accounting
  (credits and invoices) and Procurement and
  Logistics.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Warehouse

• Must maintain good relationships with vendors
• Just In Time deliveries Reliability is important
• Must maintain sufficient inventory to meet
  production needs

Safety

• Since the work in the warehouse can be physically
  demanding at times, safety will play a big role
  in everyday tasks.
• Appropriate training on forklifts and
  instructions on proper lifting techniques will be
  administered.
• MSDS sheets will need to be kept in order and up
  to date.
