    French
  • 1 IRREGULAR verbs
  • Need to be memorized
  • Each form of conjugation is differentdoesnt

ER Verbs
  • Lucky for you, you already know some ER verbs! ?
  • What makes a verb an ER verb??
  • It ends in ER of course
  • Examples parler, chanter, danser, jouer,
    manger, regarder, voyager, etc.

ER verbs
  • So far, youve learned to use the INFINITIVE of
    an ER verb
  • An INFINITIVE is the basic form of a verb that is
    not yet conjugated. In English translation it
    means To___________
  • Ex Parler To speak (parler is the infinitive
    form)

  • You already know how to say, I like TO SPEAK,
    They prefer TO TRAVEL.
  • Jaime parler, Ils preferent voyager.
  • HOWEVER, you do not yet know how to say, I SPEAK,
    THEY TRAVEL, because you have to conjugate these
    ER verbs in order to do this.

  • Step 1- CUT OFF THE ER ENDING
  • Step 2 DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE ENDING FOR
    YOUR SUBJECT
  • Step 3 ADD THE ENDING TO YOUR REMAINING STEM
