  • The success rate was calculated with the general
    improvement score. In the traction group 4 out of
    6 patients judged their condition as completely
    recovered or much improved after 12 weeks of
    treatment, resulting in a success rate of 66. In
    the splinting group 46 out of 86 patients judged
    their condition as completely recovered or much
    improvement after 3 months of treatment,
    resulting in a success rate of 54. No
    significant differences were found between de
    success rates of the traction group and the
    splinting group.
