1
Topic Drawing Near to God (Tabernacle of Moses
Pt.1)
  • Exodus 251-9 The LORD said to Moses, "Tell the
Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to
receive the offering for me from each man whose
heart prompts him to give. These are the
offerings you are to receive from them gold,
silver and bronzeacacia wood Then have them
make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among
them. Make this tabernacle and all its
furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show
    you.

2
Hebrews 81,2,5 We do have such a high priest
(Jesus), who sat down at the right hand of the
throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves
in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by
the Lord, not by man 5 They (OT priests) serve
at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what
is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when
he was about to build the tabernacle "See to it
that you make everything according to the pattern
shown you on the mountain."
3
Overview of the Structure (Exo.25-40)
  • Exodus 4033-37
  • And so Moses finished the work. Then the cloud
covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the
LORD filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter
the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled
upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the
tabernacle. In all the travels of the Israelites,
whenever the cloud lifted from above the
    tabernacle, they would set out

THE BRAZEN ALTAR (Exo.271-8)Foreshadows
Christs sacrificial death for us on the cross
4 Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and
make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of
the network. 5 Put it under the ledge of the
altar so that it is halfway up the altar. 6 Make
poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay
them with bronze. 7 The poles are to be inserted
into the rings so they will be on two sides of
the altar when it is carried. 8 Make the altar
hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as
you were shown on the mountain.
  • Exodus 271-8
  • "Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits
high it is to be square, five cubits long and
five cubits wide. 2 Make a horn at each of the
four corners, so that the horns and the altar are
of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze.
3 Make all its utensils of bronze--its pots to
remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling
    bowls, meat forks and firepans.
