Admissions Scholarships

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must apply to Westerns main campus for full-time
  first year studies
• Eligibility is based on your average as
  calculated for admission purposes. Will include
  the prerequisites for the program you are
  applying to
• Automatically awarded based on your admission
  average
• No Application is required
• No limit to the number awards given, if you have
  the average you will receive the scholarship
• Value of scholarship will based on your final
  grades that we will receive in July 2008

• 90.0 and above 2,000
• 95.0 and above (Science only) 10,000/4
  years
• 94.0 and above 10,000/4 years
• (2500/yr renewable, must maintain an 80)

• Based on Final Admission Average
• Award amount based on Final Grades received in
  July
• Funds applied to 2nd term tuition

UWO Bursaries/Work Study

• Bursaries are Non-repayable taxable grants issued
  to students who demonstrate financial need. Your
  expenses exceed your resources, merit is not a
  factor
• Work Study is a paid part-time position on
  campus, flexible work schedule, that pays
  9.50/hr
• In 2006 Western awarded more than 16.5 million
  in Bursaries, Need-based Awards and Work Study
  positions.
• Award amounts range from 250 to 4,000 for first
  yr entry students, depending on financial
  situation.

Other Entrance Awards

• Other Entrance awards are also available.
• Established by the University, alumni,
  individuals and corporations they are based on
  Merit and sometimes other criteria.

• Usually awarded in late fall/early winter

• To supplement, but not replace, the financial
  resources that both the student parents are
  expected to contribute.
• Based on financial need.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

• June 20th Aiming for the Top/QE scholarship
  deadline
• Apply/submit the signature declarations early,
  for tuition deferral- no later than June 30th
  (6-8 week processing time)

• 1st year automatic consideration for Millennium
  Ontario Access Grant (up to 2070)
• Loans remain interest free for the duration of
  full time studies
