Case 1

• 52 year old female presented to GDP with
  discharging sinuses associated with 21 22.
• Patient complained of a horrible taste in her
  mouth constantly for 3 years.
• Otherwise, asymptomatic.

• History of trauma to her front teeth when she was
  18.
• This resulted in RCT and crowns to 21 22.
• 10 years ago the teeth were recrowned, including
  11 and 12 to improve the match.
• 11 12 root treated at the same time.
• Recurrent infections 21 22 were managed with
  antibiotics and surgery 8 years ago.
• Saw GDP who removed crowns and provided temporary
  linked crowns cemented with tempbond for easy
  removal and referred patient to an endodontic
  specialist.

• 65 year old female, medically fit and well
• Would like to replace existing bridge for
  aesthetic reasons
• Finds current level of function satisfactory
• PDH
• Diagnosis of moderate to advanced chronic perio
  in 1991. UL12 already lost
• Treated non-surgically and surgically in 1991
• UR1 lost 1997. Existing bridge place
• Periodontal maintenance ever since. Mostly
  stable, but some areas going downhill steadily in
  spite of further localised treatment

• Smile line at the level of the gingival margins
• Suppuration from mid palatal 14 and mid buccal 36
• Grade 3 furcation involvements on 26, 36 and 46
• Grade 1 mobility on 46
• No occlusal interferences found
