• To establish the cardiology ward as a fully
  operational 15 bedded telemetry unit by end of
  2006
• To provide nurses with essential knowledge and
  skills to competently manage care of patients
  requiring telemetry monitoring.

• Formation of Telemetry Working Group,

Customised Programme content

• Certificate Programme
• Three modules
• Module 1. Rhythm strip, 12 lead ECG
  interpretation analysis
• Module 2. Cardiac Nursing
• Module 3. Clinical practice module
• Assessments
• Duration 12 weeks

• Four programme delivered
• A total of 21 students entered the programme
• - 76 (16) successfully completed
  programme.
• - 9.5 (2) deferred
• - 9.5 (2) repeating modules
• - 5 (1) withdrew from programme
• Telemetry bed occupancy increased
