4Functional Difference
5Continuation of the Experiment
Positive feedback from the Spring session
encouraged us to do it again Two-day, three-way
joint session of the PROC, EMF, and VVA forums
6Advantages
- Encourages cross fertilization among different
federation development domains and disciplines - Provides additional flexibility to discuss topics
or issues that do not fall neatly into existing
forum structures - Attendees will no longer have to choose among
parallel forum sessions - No duplication of papers or presentations within
the track
7Disadvantage
- There is less total time available for each forum
- However, this does force the PRPs to be more
selective of workshop papers, thus improving the
overall quality of the program
8Other Options Considered
- Joint Track Meeting at every SISO
- Alternate between Joint Track and Individual
Forum Meetings - Maintain Individual Forums
Note that this is still an experiment! We will
be soliciting feedback from attendees throughout
the track sessions.
9Track Charter
- This track is focused on topics and issues
relevant to the development of HLA federations.
The primary goals of this track are to - exchange practical experiences and identify new
developmental concepts/ideas for HLA federations - identify best practices for federation VV
- identify opportunities and requirements for
automation of key federation development
activities - assist in the establishment of SISO products
which facilitate the federation development
process
